Burning plasma achieved. Fusion reactions become the dominant source of heating in the fuel.

Ignition. 3.15 MJ of fusion energy from 2.05 MJ delivered, the first fusion energy gain in history.

Repeated, at higher yield. Ignition was reproduced eleven times.

Record gain. 8.6 MJ from 2.08 MJ on target, a scientific (target) gain of

4.13, the highest on record.

Fusion energy gain has been demonstrated only at one facility, the National Ignition Facility (NIF) at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL). Longview was founded by the team that designed, built, and operated NIF, and is now transforming that breakthrough into a commercial fusion power plant design that has been previously reviewed and validated by eight major U.S. utilities.
